Concrete Removal & Replacement
When a section is displaced more than 2 inches or too broken to save, we remove it, address the cause, and pour new concrete matched to its surroundings.

The problem
Some sections are past the point where grinding makes sense. A slab lifted more than 2 inches, a panel broken into pieces, or concrete that keeps moving because of a root underneath needs to come out.
When it applies
- Vertical displacement of 2 inches or more.
- Extensive cracking, or sections broken into multiple pieces.
- A tree root or drainage problem is actively lifting the slab and will keep doing so.
- Previous repairs have failed.
How we do it
- 1
Remove the section
The damaged concrete is saw-cut, broken out, and hauled away. Tree roots in the subgrade are removed where that is the cause.
- 2
Prepare the base
The subgrade is leveled and compacted so the new section stays put.
- 3
Pour and finish to match
New concrete is poured level with the adjacent sections and finished to match the surrounding surface as closely as possible.
Removal and replacement is the right call when grinding is not. Our surveyors draw that line at 2 inches of displacement or at sections that are too fractured to grind cleanly, and the proposal shows you which locations fall on which side of it.
Because we also grind and patch, we have no reason to recommend replacement where a less expensive repair would do the job.
